When I was pregnant with my first child, some of the girls in my sophomore English class asked me one day if I was planning on having an epidural. One of the boys raised his hand and said, "Can't you just take an Ibuprofen?"
I said, "Oh Royce. Don't ever say that to your future wife."
The girls and I got a good laugh out of it. They teased him for the entire year.
Teachers need and deserve a good laugh. I've only been teaching for six years, but in those six years I've heard some pretty funny stories. One day I'd like to sit down and compile a collection of all these funny teaching stories. Please share your funniest teaching stories because we'd all love a good laugh.

Toystory
When "Toystory" first came out, my friend Linda, who is a business teacher, decided she wanted to buy her grandson a stuffed figurine from "Toystory." Her grandson's favorite character was Woody. It was around Christmas, and Linda was frustrated because she hadn't been able to find a Woody doll. In the middle of accounting class the day before the break she announced, "Does anyone no where I can find a big Woody?" The kids erupted in laughter, and she was mortified. She quickly added, "A big Woody DOLL for my grandson."

Lame as a Rob?
One day I decided to give my seniors a break because they had been working so hard, and they all had developed a nasty case of "senioritis." I decided to let them watch the newest version of "Les Miserables" in class. After the movie they were instructed to write an essay on how the French culture affected each of the main characters. One girl apparently couldn't remember how to spell the title, so she sounded it out to the best of her ability. Her final essay was entitled "Lame as a Rob." It still makes me giggle when I think of it.
